The 7 Benefits of Horse Manure

I know, it might sound gross to some, but you know what they say one man’s or woman’s trash, I mean mammal, is another’s treasure.

1 - Horse Dung is a growth accelerator

Horse manure can be used to speed up plant growth as it provides lots of essential nutrients and minerals for plants which are crucial for growth. It can be great for lawns, flower gardens or keep your kids from playing in it.

Also, nature’s tea can be made from Horse manure. Once cooled it can be used to water the plants, this way the nutrients go straight into the plants.

2 - A powerful fuel too

Horse dung can be used as fuel for heating.

For example, a heating coil, buried in your dungstead, can heat water for free. Also, Dung can be compressed into bricks and used as fire logs, these bricks can be more efficient than some types of wood for burning.

Who knows, someday we could all utilise manure to heat our homes instead of other fuels, which would be cheaper and environmentally friendly.

3 - Horse poop as a construction material

Horse dung can be compacted into bricks to use as a cheap alternative to clay bricks. While they may not be optimal for skyscrapers, however they could be perfect for a shed or even as a foundation for a small cabin.

4 - Less off-putting odour

Horse manure has a much less pungent waft than other animal dung. The reason for this is due to lower sulfur and methane levels in Horse dung, which gives it a much more pleasant smell, not that you’d want it as an aroma in your home as it still doesn’t exactly smell like strawberries or anything like it.

5 - If you have a horse, it’s free

Horse manure is a by-product of simply owning a horse. Which means that you can get all these benefits for nothing if you own one of these beautiful creatures.

6 - Recyclable

For those who wish use Horse manure for its botanical benefits. Great. But you can get more bang for your buck by selling it to small home-growers.

7 - Monetary value

With all of these benefits in mind, if you have a large supply, anyone could certainly make a tidy profit on Horse manure. I’m not talkin’ Horse-crap!
